We have a nice Jazz Live house in our local (Keio line Shibasaki station South Exit), named Sakuranbo(means cherry). I tried to go for one trumpet live show of the event "The number one group series" on the opening the seventh anniversary commemoration of this house. It was 30 years ago when I joined the live show that was a little restaurant which probably dotted at the Bourbon Street of New Orleans.

The inside of the classical house, Sakuranbo, which has about 40 seats, is the atmosphere itself of such a Live House in New Orleans which passed during the stay every night.
It can feel (a smart way) with the decoration inside the casual stop as well. An audio system is strengthened with the device of the world super-the first rank including JBL speakers, and it is like the space of the saloon of the adult who can enjoy the Jazz of the advanced quality of sound even on weekdays when they have no thing of the live show.
The Owner of Sakuranbo, George Okada, who is active on the table stage as a player of "Miyama Toshiyuki & his NewHerd" without retiring with the Jazz, trombone player of the incumbent post at present, too.
"Though it was twenty-five or more years ago, too, George was the studio fellow when my Lupin the Third Album was given together. Though he is the person who isn't so big, he is the master hand of the bass trombone that things take out terrific thick sound. As for saying a bass trombone, there is no such person who takes out a pretty terrific thing though it is the sound whose sound of "Buritz" or "Balitz-balitz" are good. He is a Japanese leading expert with the bass trombone player.", This is the word of Mr.Yuji Ohno, who is a famous composer even with the jazz pianist who appeared for his Live show here.
There was no story said to George so at all though the bottom was finished to the jazz musician and the anecdote of the age was settled and they were things. He who was active as a studio musician has had the actual results of Recording beyond 30,000 songs since he started. This record will be never torn from now on, too. Today, it is a little present condition that it is often substituted with a source of computer sound, and there is with Recording by the live performance behind Recording.
His ability was proved Frank Sinatra visiting performance, the bass trombone player of the back in the case of Hong Kong(1) and Japan(4) performance as to having worked. And, if it knows, he when it was young would be able to have a former jazz fan understand the back of July London (singer) which visited Japan to work, too, NewHerd got The 55th Geijutusai Yushuu-sho(A prize for excellent Artist from Government), on the year of Heisei 12.

There are few people who knows the storys that Mr.Okada became to be called "George". A George Roberts of the United States was known for worldwide as a musician who opened a field of the Bass Trombone on Solo playing. He is called " Mr. Base Trombone" and still active works today. He worked the bass trombone of the back in the U.S. performance of Frank Sinatra, Henry Mancini, Samy Davis Junior, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald, too. As Okada became superior as a player of Bass Trombone since still young, people became to call him a "George(of Japan)".
Once, there was a special project named "The 100 Trombones Concert" by Japan Musician Union. Top Trombone players of the world all gathered in Tokyo at this events. It was in Oct 1997. George Roberts and George Okada, of course, were in the members. Both George met each other for the first time was when George Roberts came his first visit to Japan in this previous year for his clinic (performance guidance). George Roberts came only to Sakuranbo to avoid any other temptations as such a famous musician and had a live session here. An articles on this live show was introduced to the newspaper of the United States as well. The Bass Trombone that George Okada is using at the concerts of Newherd Orchestra was prenseted by George Roberts, and it had a George Roberts signe on it.

A hitch toward the Jazz yields to no one!!
George Okada whom takes pride in holds this live show every week on Saturday when he learns real big by the co-star with the big game of the world and it wants to introduce the heart that the real thing is loved to many people. A famous player appears one after another. Once, it was terrific because super-the first rank incumbent post player of the worlds, George Graham(tp), Lloyd Ulyate(tb), Bill Watrous(tb), George Young(sax), Jim Pugh(tb) and Ryan Kisor (tp), they all appeared here in Live. George Roberts as well to appear for this live show of course, as mentioned above.
Though it is one of the minor stations, it iwill be certain Shibasaki to become a charming Jazz spot in Keio-Teito line.
